Sincere Support Charity Golf Day 2024 - Result

Sincere Supports’ charity golf day 2024 was a resounding success, raising an impressive £3,324.10 for our charity, thanks to the incredible support of the sponsors and playing guests.

The day kicked off bright and early with tea, coffee, and bacon rolls in the clubhouse. Excitement filled the air as 76 eager players took to the stunning 18-hole course, set amidst picturesque parkland with great views of Rotherham and Sheffield, offering the perfect backdrop for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a day on the green.

Adding to the day’s excitement were several on-course contests and coveted top positions. Congratulations to all the golfing champions:

Tournament Winners: 3 hookers & a Pro’ – led by team captain, Paul Ward

Runner-up: Utility Planners – Led by team captain Phil Tunstill

There were prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin.

At the halfway house players were welcomed by “the Golden girls” (Kim and Ann) and treated to tea, coffee, 3 varieties of succulent cakes, cold drinks and chocolates sponsored by Shaun Smith from the Sheffield Steelers.

The day concluded in the club house where players enjoyed pie, chips, peas & gravy followed by the award presentations, raffle where lucky winners took home a variety of prizes including 4 balls at several local golf clubs and other excellent prizes donated by local companies (thanks go to Chris Shadwick and Phil Tunstill for sourcing the prizes this year). Congratulations to all the raffle winners. Finally our players took part in a “ball drop” where the winning prizes were 2 bottles of whisky donated by Duncan Milner and Peter Bowden.

We extend a massive thank you to everyone who participated and made the day so special. We would particularly like to acknowledge the amazing hole sponsors Smart computers, Sheffield Steelers, Bailey Hall, TSB, Forgemasters, DPL Enabling, Varcarme, Bradwell Skips, Countrywide Health Care, Maggie Mays, Utility Source, Utility Planners, Meadowhall, Steel & Stones, Saint-Gobain, Pressure Metals and Westfield - whose contributions were instrumental in making the event a success. Finally, without the support of the brilliant Phoenix Golf Club for playing host to the event and providing the excellent after round meal.

See you all again at our Charity golf day 2025
